The Sistine Chapel Choir Concert @ St. Patrick’s Cathedral: 7:00pm
Cocktail Reception to Welcome the Holy Relics of Padre Pio to NYC @ the St. Patrick's Cathedral Parish House: 8:30pm
To commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime American tour of the Holy Relics of Padre Pio, as well as the first American tour for The Sistine Chapel Choir in thirty years, we invite you to an intimate welcome reception for the holy relics of Padre Pio and an evening of spiritual music with The Sistine Chapel Choir.
Commonly referred to as the “Pope’s Choir,” The Sistine Chapel Choir is a highly accomplished group of 30 boys and 22 men, who sing for various liturgies celebrated by the Holy Father. It is considered the most prominent and oldest choir in the world, dating back to the 7th century. This is their first American tour in thirty years.
The Holy Relics of Padre Pio are on their first-ever American tour, to commemorate the 130th anniversary of Padre Pio’s birth, and the 15th anniversary of his canonization. St. Patrick’s Cathedral is grateful for the Saint Pio Foundation who have generously offered the relics to be displayed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The evening will begin with some sacred music - a concert performed by The Sistine Chapel Choir at St. Patrick’s Cathedral - then end with a welcome reception offering all guests a unique opportunity to participate in an intimate presentation and conversation on the holy relics of Padre Pio, in the presence of two special guests and good-will ambassadors for the Saint Pio Foundation, actors Robert Davi and Tony Lo Bianco. Additionally, the kneeler of Venerable Fulton Sheen will be available for prayer and adoration throughout the evening.
**ALL DONATIONS collected from the registration page for this evening will help cover the cost of the increased expenses incurred to make the relics available for the general public, not only at St. Patrick's Cathedral, but for the wider U.S. tour as well.
